Fried egg sandwich on light rye toast
Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1 slice light rye bread ( Ranking Healthiest Breads )
- 1 slice cheese (Muenster or Swiss)
Instructions
- Lightly toast 1 slice of rye bread.
- Fry 1 egg sunny side up
- Place 1 slice of cheese on toasted bread. Place egg on top. Serve immediately. (See also Southwestern scrambled eggs by Bobguy)
Super simple breakfast idea. Awesome photo with the egg yolk running down the side. Yummy.
Thanks for the kudos Nancy. When I submitted this recipe, the staff rejected it as being too simple. When they saw the photo though, they posted it. Funny thing is I really got lucky with the photo. I was moving a few things on the plate for the photo when the yolk broke. By the time I got the camera into position the yolk had perfectly drained out over the edge.
