Recipe Notes

  • Vegetarian – This recipe is considered Vegetarian if your diet allows for the use of eggs. Otherwise, it is not. On the plus side, unlike many scrambled egg recipes, Menemen does not require any dairy products.
  • Under-cooked eggs – For most of us (me included), we cook scrambled eggs until fully set. Turkish eggs, on the other hand, asks us to cook the eggs until barely set. Some of us may not be comfortable with that idea. I know I was not in the beginning. However, after trying a batch of Menemen, I was hooked.
  • Suggested Garnish – Our favorite toppings include green olives and extra tomatoes. We also like to serve this dish with a nice crusty bread.
